Welcome back to Red Lion Square! This week we have poems by Harriet Leach and Leila A. Fortier. Leila's poem "Trip" is meant to be heard, as in this episode, or experienced visually. Click here to see a visual representation of her poem.

In the after party, we take you back to 1946 to hear an excerpt from the poetry radio show "Moon River." Apparently, in the '40s, poetry was meant to put people to sleep. You can get more old radio shows, including full episodes of "Moon River" at RUSC.com.

First!

This episode is fun! I love the after party! I love to hear the differences between RLS and Moon River. What do you guys think? Should I replace the guitar music with gentle organ music and humming? Shouldn't we try to find a sponsor? I am thinking "Appliance Direct" would be great for us!

For what it's worth, I love the guitar music. I wouldn't change it at all unless you can get an indie band to donate something. So happy to hear Leila's poem read. She is one of my favorite spoken/written/artistic poets ever. I love her and have known her beauty for years. Thank you so much sharing!

Maybe next week's tagline should be "poetry that slumbers." :) I could read in that slow voice...
